Edited rocket.
I wasn't happy with my original rocket animation, so i went back and looked at it and added a few other features, such as windows, and also fire coming out of the bottom so give you the impression that it is moving as the fire is propelling it.
Super Bird
I had the idea in my head of a good guy animation protecting something, so i sat and thought of many ideas and drew a few animations before deciding on 'Super Bird'
I chose Super Bird because the scene is set up in the sky, so it made sense to have something that could fly or something that you would least expect of being a hero for the fun factor.
I also chose a bird so that i could have the head on a pivot and be able to shoot out of his beak, which would make the game fun.
My background
I decided that because i designed a spacecraft, the scene should be set in the sky, and i thought that a nice sunny day would be a good background because i wanted a good guy animation shooting at the spacecraft. So it was as if he was protecting a really nice pace and day from being ruined.
I believe it is nice and simple and wouldn't take away from the actual shooting game that was taking place, and wouldn't distract the gamer.

Rocket
I knew that i had to design a spaceship/rocket and it had to be an original graphic, so instead of looking on the Internet for ideas i just thought of ideas in my head so that i didn't copy anyone else's idea.
I first of all decided what type of animation i wanted and decided on a rocket, then thought of colours and shapes that would make it look better.
The above animation is what i came up with.
